     Lieutenant Colonel John Wilkinson was born in 1711. He married Mary Lacey on 21 March 1740.² Lieutenant Colonel John Wilkinson married Hannah Hughes in February 1770.² Lieutenant Colonel John Wilkinson died on 31 May 1782 at age 71 years.
     He became a very prominent citizen of Bucks county, serving in the colonial assembly for the years 1761, 1762-3, and in that of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the years 1776-1781, and 1782, and as a justice of the peace from 1764 to 1774. He participated in the organization of the committee of safety in 1774.
He was a member of the first constitutional convention, July 15, 1776.
He was appointed lieutenant-colonel of the Third Bucks County Associators, August 16, I775; and member of conference of delegates for all the counties at Philadelphia, July 18, 1776. He was appointed justice of the peace and judge of the court of common pleas, September 3. 1776. He and Mary Lacey had five children (Mary, John, Stephen, James, and Rachel) as identified in the reference.²
